Foren

We want to create more exchange of information and opinions between people from Africa and Europe (and especially from Ghana and Germany) through joint African-German forums. We encourage people to post in these forums themselves, to read the posts of others and to comment on them.

Teams:

Create African-European forums and teams

With the establishment of African-European forums and teams, we want to promote more direct exchange of information and opinions and personal cooperation.

So far, only a few people in Europe and Africa are in personal contact. What we know about each other is therefore mostly not shaped by our own experience. It has not been gained from our own relationships with people we trust or from our own experience. Prejudices from the long period of enslavement and colonial occupation are often still passed on through families. Schools and teachers are often not up to date either: Africa does not play a major role in their education for the most part. Media coverage is done by journalists who are usually equally influenced. In addition, lobby groups with economic interests in Africa, which is rich in raw materials and geostrategically important for the major powers, have more influence than representatives of peace and human rights. The one-sided reporting on the war against African Libya has clearly shown this.

There is still no strong African-European learning and action community of people who use the values of the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Social Covenant and the UN Civil Covenant: Creating peace and decent living conditions for all, respecting the self-determination of all peoples, resolving all conflicts only by peaceful means. Internet, education level, knowledge of foreign languages and migrants who can build bridges make it possible to build such an African-European learning and action community. We want to contribute to this with the Black and White community and the forums and teams.

Forums:

We want to create more exchange of information and opinions between people from Africa and Europe (and first of all from Ghana and Germany) through joint African-German forums. We encourage people to post in these forums themselves, to read the posts of others and to comment on them.

Teams (groups):

For people who are looking for sustainable cooperation with people on the other continent, we have set up the teams. They can promote and organise the exchange of information and opinions through the forums. They can advise on how to inspire more people in Africa (Ghana first) and Europe (Germany first) to come into personal contact. We hope to be able to create an effective force that can contribute to peaceful, just and solidary living conditions and relations.

Themes:

We at the Black and White Initiatives have mainly been involved in schools in the past years. Therefore, we initially concentrated on bringing teachers, pupils and parents into contact through our relations in Germany and Ghana. We have also been active in peace issues and in migrant organisations. Here we hope to be able to create further networking.

This year, we want to involve students and revive the North-South dialogue that the North-South Commission started in the 1970s and 1980s. And we want to use our networks in Germany and in Sunyani and Brong-Ahafo to bring people, organisations and institutions into contact.

In the past years, we have created a foundation for new, equal relationships with our associations. Can we count on you to further consolidate and expand this through the forums and teams?
